Ever heard of kite fishing? It's a Palm Beach specialty that'll blow your mind. We rig live baits to special release clips on kites, dangling them right on the surface where big predators love to feed. When a sailfish or mahi spots that bait, hold onto your hat - the explosion on the surface is something you've got to see to believe. We also do plenty of drift fishing, which is great for bottom dwellers like snapper and grouper. And when the conditions are right, we'll troll for speedsters like wahoo and tuna. Captain Rich's got all the latest electronics to find the fish, and decades of experience to put you on the bite.
"I've fished all over Florida, but there's something special about Palm Beach. The variety of fish you can catch in just a few hours is insane. Last trip, my kids caught their first mahi-mahi AND we saw a giant sea turtle. Captain Rich made it so easy and fun for the whole family." - Mike S., Tampa
"As a beginner, I was worried about looking clueless out there. But the crew on Tuna Wahoo Charters were awesome. They showed us everything, from how to hold the rod to how to reel in a big one. We ended up catching more fish than I could count!" - Sarah T., Chicago
"This was our third trip with Captain Rich, and it just keeps getting better. His ability to find fish is uncanny. We hooked into a monster sailfish that gave us the fight of our lives. Can't wait to get back out there!" - John D., New York
Bull Shark: These bruisers of the sea are a year-round target off Palm Beach. Growing up to 11 feet long and weighing in at over 500 pounds, hooking into a bull shark is like trying to stop a freight train. They're known for their aggressive fights and powerful runs. While we practice catch-and-release for these apex predators, the thrill of battling one will stick with you forever.
Atlantic Sailfish: The crown jewel of Palm Beach fishing, sailfish are the high-flying acrobats of the ocean. Peaking in winter and early spring, these billfish can reach speeds of 68 mph and put on a show like no other when hooked. Watch in awe as they tailwalk across the surface, their iconic sail fully extended. Landing a sailfish is a bucket-list item for many anglers, and there's no better place to do it than Palm Beach.
Cobia: Often called "the poor man's marlin," cobia are hard-fighting fish that'll test your stamina. These curious creatures are known to follow boats and even sharks, making them a fun target for sight fishing. Their peak season is late spring through summer. With firm, white flesh, they're also excellent table fare if you decide to keep one for dinner.
Wahoo Fish: If you're after pure speed, wahoo are your target. These streamlined predators can hit speeds of 60 mph and make blistering runs that'll have your reel screaming. Fall and winter are prime wahoo time off Palm Beach. Landing one of these striped speedsters is a true accomplishment, and their meat is some of the best in the ocean.
Mahi Mahi (Common Dolphinfish): With their vibrant colors and acrobatic fights, mahi mahi are a favorite for anglers of all skill levels. These fish are abundant in the summer months, often found near floating debris or weed lines. Mahi are known for their spectacular aerial displays when hooked, and they're delicious on the grill. It's not uncommon to find schools of these fish, leading to non-stop action that the whole family will love.

Took a half-day trip with the family. The crew was great with our younger kids. Caught some smaller fish but they were thrilled. Great introduction to saltwater fishing.

I booked this trip as a surprise for my husband’s birthday, and it far exceeded our expectations. Captain Rich Adler was not only professional and punctual but incredibly knowledgeable about the local fishery. We caught snapper, grouper, and even a couple of big jack crevalle. Rich took the time to explain techniques and even gave us a quick marine life lesson when a sea turtle swam by. It was a fun, educational, and action-packed day. We’re already planning another trip!

From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Rich made us feel welcome and confident. He clearly knows the Palm Beach waters inside and out—every spot he took us to was productive. We caught a variety of fish including mahi-mahi and kingfish. He was extremely patient with our group (especially the newbies) and explained everything in a way that made it fun and easy. I’ve been on many charters before, and this one stands out as one of the best. Highly recommend booking a trip with Rich—you won't regret it!

Atlantic sailfish are some of the fastest fish in the ocean, and a blast to catch off Palm Beach. These beauties can grow up to 10 feet long but typically weigh around 50 pounds. You'll find them in warm, coastal waters, often hanging out 30 to 65 feet deep. Winter's the prime time to target sailfish here, especially in the "Sailfish Alley" stretching from Miami to Fort Pierce. These fish put up an incredible fight, known for their acrobatic leaps and deep dives. It's a true test of endurance for any angler. What makes sailfish unique is their ability to change colors rapidly, from blue to black with stripes. They use this trick to communicate when hunting in groups. Speaking of hunting, they love to chase schools of baitfish like sardines and mackerel. If you're looking to hook one, here's a local tip: try slow-trolling live bait and be ready for that initial run. When a sailfish hits, let it take some line before setting the hook. Their bills are soft, so patience is key to a solid hookup. Trust me, the wait is worth it when you see that sail lit up in the water!
Bull sharks are tough customers, known for their stocky build and aggressive nature. These 8-12 footers cruise our warm, shallow coastal waters and can even swim up freshwater rivers. They're year-round residents, but summer's when they're most active near Palm Beach. Catching a bull shark is a real thrill - they put up a hell of a fight and can weigh up to 300 pounds. You'll find them lurking around reefs, inlets, and even under bridges. They're opportunistic feeders, so we use a variety of baits like mullet, mackerel, or bonito. What makes bull sharks special is their adaptability. They can handle both salt and fresh water, which is pretty rare for sharks. If you're after one, patience is key. We'll set up a good chum slick and wait for them to come investigate. Here's a local tip: try using fresh eel as bait. Bulls go crazy for it, and its tough skin holds up well on the hook. Just be ready for a battle once they bite - these sharks don't give up easily!
Cobia are one of those fish that'll keep you on your toes. These bruisers can hit 6 feet and 100 pounds, though most we see are in the 30-50 pound range. They're loners, often mistaken for sharks with that single dorsal fin. You'll find 'em hanging around reefs, wrecks, and buoys in 30-70 feet of water, especially during their spring and summer spawning runs. What makes cobia fun is how they fight - strong and unpredictable. Plus, they're excellent eating with firm, white meat. We usually spot them near the surface, so keep your eyes peeled. Spring and early summer are prime time as they migrate up the coast. If you want to hook one, try a heavy bucktail jig - color doesn't matter much, but 4-8 ounces is the sweet spot. Here's a local tip: if you see rays, there's a good chance cobia are shadowing them. Toss your jig nearby and hold on tight!
Mahi-mahi are a sight to behold, with their electric blue and gold coloring. We usually find these acrobatic fighters near floating debris and weedlines, often in the 15-30 pound range. They're fast growers but don't live long, so there's always a healthy population to target. Spring through fall is prime mahi season here in Palm Beach. They're surface feeders, so we'll look for birds working bait schools. Once we find them, it's non-stop action - they travel in schools and hit hard. Mahi give an awesome fight, leaping and tail-walking across the surface. Guests love mahi fishing because it's so visual and exciting. Plus, they make for incredible eating - firm, white meat with a mild, sweet flavor that's hard to beat. Pro tip: When you hook one, keep it in the water and others will often follow. We'll get multiple hookups that way. Whether you're after a trophy bull or just want to fill the cooler, mahi fishing is always a blast.
Wahoo are some of the fastest fish in the ocean, clocking speeds up to 60 mph. They're sleek, torpedo-shaped predators with striking blue stripes. We usually find them in deeper offshore waters, often near floating debris or structure. These fighters typically run 3-5 feet long but can reach over 8 feet. They put up an incredible battle on light tackle. Wahoo are prized for their firm, white meat that's similar to mahi-mahi. Prime wahoo fishing here is July through November when water temps are right. We'll troll at high speeds, around 12-15 knots, with wire leaders to prevent bite-offs from their razor-sharp teeth. A local trick: try slow-trolling fresh ballyhoo on a skirt. The natural bait often outperforms artificial lures for the big ones. Wahoo aren't as common as some other species, but landing one is always a highlight. Their blistering runs and delicious fillets make them a favorite target for seasoned anglers looking for a challenge.
